Before & After - What a Difference a Belt Makes

Vintage dresses are a rare treat for me these days living in Dubai. Recently spent some time in Dublin where I scoured every second hand/vintage store I could find, and found a couple gems! This is just to show why you should never judge a dress by its belt. Here's how this 60's dress was meant to be worn:

.. Unflattering much?? On the right top edge of the belt you see how I had started picking the stitch to remove the belt.. Took it off completely, removing all the basting stitches from underneath. Then just 1) flipped the dress so the intended back became the front, 2) pulled the sleeves down from the shoulders, and 3) tied the belt I had removed at the waist. Much fresher!
